The Woman Behind the Files
Welcome to BookSherlocked.
I’m the reader behind the case files — endlessly curious about books, true crime, mysteries, and the stories that refuse to let go.
My fascination with true crime and unresolved mysteries goes back many years, from the enduring questions surrounding Jack the Ripper to modern cases that changed the way I think about the genre.
One of those cases was the murders of Abby Williams and Libby German in Delphi. Following that case affected the way I approached true crime. It made me think more about the people behind the headlines, the families left behind, the responsibility that comes with telling these stories, and how easily speculation can begin to overshadow fact.
That perspective has stayed with me.
BookSherlocked has changed over the years too. What began as a book blog gradually grew into something much bigger — perhaps a little too big. Somewhere along the way, reading started competing with review requests, expectations, social media, and all the things that can turn a hobby into another job.
BookSherlocked 2.0 is my way back to the part I loved in the first place.
Books. Curiosity. Research. And honest opinions.
How I Review
I choose what I read because it interests me.
Some books are brilliant. Some disappoint me. Some earn five stars, some earn one, and occasionally a book and I simply agree to part ways before the final chapter.
My reviews reflect my actual reading experience. I’m not interested in writing the review I think I’m supposed to write.
That freedom matters to me.
You’ll find true crime here, but also history, memoirs, mysteries and whatever else happens to send me down the next literary rabbit hole.
A Little Privacy, Please
BookSherlocked is personal, but I’m a private person.
I like sharing the thoughts, books and cases that fascinate me without putting every part of my life online. So you’ll get to know the detective behind the files — just not every file in the cabinet.
